This year’s Volunteers’ Week is fast approaching and there are lots of ways that your organisation can get involved. This year’s theme is ‘Volunteering For All’, emphasising that volunteering is for everyone – regardless of background, ethnicity, age or disabilities – everyone should have the opportunity to get involved in volunteering. There are a range of ways to join in: download the Volunteers’ Week Scot Resource Pack; support the Thunderclap; become a Volunteers’ Week partner and add your events to the Volunteer Scotland website. There will be plenty happening on social media throughout the week, so make sure you follow the #VolunteersWeekScot hashtag and share your photos and stories.

New Volunteering Support Fund opens to applications 9 April 2018
The Scottish Government has committed £3.3 million over three years to support volunteering in Scotland until March 2021. The Volunteering Support Fund managed by Voluntary Action Fund will enable Scotland’s small to medium-sized third sector organisations to recruit additional volunteers (who will contribute towards delivering a new volunteering project, or extending/expanding an existing one) and improve how volunteers are supported in their role. Further details about eligibility and how to apply can be found on the Volunteering Support Fund page.
