Leading the transformation of mental health support for happier and more resilient young people in Midlothian
In Midlothian the Third Sector Interface is key to strengthening preventative support for youth mental health. Its unique ability to navigate and connect public & third sector organisations has enabled a multi-agency approach; helping partners consider preventative approaches and strengthening the local third sector role.
The TSI runs the Transform Project; a supported volunteering project for young people helping them gain skills and experiences. An increasing trend is the number of young people who are referred or come forward who are experiencing poor mental health.
Working closely with local partners the TSI has been instrumental in helping to secure £836,000 for a multi-agency partnership to get help early to children and young people suffering from mental health issues.
