Guidance developed by Voluntary Action Scotland in partnership with the Department for Work and Pensions, regarding volunteering whilst receiving welfare benefits.
The Scottish Government has recognised that it is important that the third sector is able to engage with the ongoing development of integrated health and social care, as reorganised due to the Public Bodies (Joint Working) (Scotland) Act 2014. This document looks at the role of the Third Sector across the various aspects of health and social care integration, including where it can be strengthened and improved.
This report is based on a dialogue event held by the ALLIANCE, Coalition of Care Providers Scotland and Voluntary Action Scotland. The event was attended by representatives from national third sector organisations with a focus on health, those who provide registered social care services and Third Sector Interfaces (TSIs). The report seeks to present the thematic findings from each of the exploratory sessions on the day to provide a useful resource.
This report summarises a joint project between Voluntary Action Scotland and the Scottish Community Development Centre and is intended to stimulate debate within the TSI network as to how to consolidate and strengthen the community development role of TSIs.
