On 6 November 2013, Derek Mackay, Minister for Local Government and Planning, launched a consultation on detailed proposals for the Community Empowerment (Scotland) Bill.
The Bill aims to make the most of the talents that exist in our communities; deliver high quality and improving public services; and support strong local democracy and local decision-making.
The consultation paper is available on the Scottish Government consultation section of the website. The closing date for responses is 24 January 2014.
This consultation takes forward proposals that were supported in the Scottish Governments previous, exploratory consultation, as well as other issues which have emerged from further discussion with stakeholders.
Voluntary Action Scotland will be providing a consultation response in due course and will be looking to put forward the view of members. If you would like to comment on the draft Bill and consultation please join the conversation on our KnowledgeHub page or contact email@example.com
